Shakespeare Sonnet Marathon

An all-day public reading of all of Shakespeare’s sonnets in consecutive order as a celebration of his birthday and of the poetry he wrote, featuring iconic sonnets such as Sonnet 18 ‘Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day’ and Sonnet 130 ‘My mistress’ eyes are nothing like the sun’ among others!

With these sonnets being performed by multiple readers, it will be an event with wonderful poetry and promises to be a day full of fun and culture, where the audience will be able to come and go to watch as they please.

Timing

The reading will start at 1100 and we plan to present around 30 sonnets in each hour.

so our rough schedule should run as follows

11:00 1-30

12:00 31-60

13:00 61-90

14:00 91-120

15:00 121-154

You will need to book in by emailing us on sonnets@parrabbola.co.uk – tell us which sonnet or sonnets you’d like to read if you have a preference, and just check that you can make the schedule above. We’ll collect all the details and arrange the programme!
