Saturday April 22, 11:00
York Theatre Royal
An all-day public reading of all of Shakespeare’s sonnets in consecutive order as a celebration of his birthday and of the poetry he wrote, featuring iconic sonnets such as Sonnet 18 ‘Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day’ and Sonnet 130 ‘My mistress’ eyes are nothing like the sun’ among others!
With these sonnets being performed by multiple readers, it will be an event with wonderful poetry and promises to be a day full of fun and culture, where the audience will be able to come and go to watch as they please.
The reading will start at 1100 and we plan to present around 30 sonnets in each hour.
